Safety Information
This applies to KYNEXA RECOVER red light, PEMF and focused shockwave equipment. Read it before your first session.
Do not use PEMF equipment if you have an implanted electronic device
That means a pacemaker, defibrillator, neurostimulator, insulin pump or cochlear implant. Pulsed electromagnetic fields can interfere with how those devices work. This one is not a caution to weigh up — do not use it.
Talk to your doctor before you start if any of these apply
- You are pregnant
- You have an implanted metal device, plate, pin or screw
- You have epilepsy or any seizure disorder
- You have a light-sensitive condition such as lupus
- You take photosensitising medication
- You are being treated for an injury or a condition — ask the person treating you before you add this to what they have you doing
Using it safely
- Start with short sessions and work up. There is nothing to gain from going long on day one.
- Use it on bare skin where you can.
- An enclosed PU blanket gets warm. Keep water nearby, and get out if you are uncomfortable.
- Do not sleep in a blanket and do not leave a session running unattended.
- Do not look directly at LED beads or panels. Close your eyes or use eye protection.
- Keep the controller and adapter dry, and stop using anything with a damaged cable.
Focused shockwave equipment
The focused shockwave unit is professional equipment and should only be operated by someone trained to use it. Do not use it, or use it on anyone, with an implanted electronic device, an implanted metal device, or over the skull, spine, lungs, a growth plate in a child, or an area with a known blood clot or infection. Ask a doctor first in the case of pregnancy or any bleeding disorder or blood-thinning medication.
What this equipment is
It is recovery equipment. It is not a treatment and it is not a diagnosis, and nothing on this page is medical advice. If something is not settling, get it looked at properly.
